Ok. Now I'm really confused. For each file individually I reversed
the change and retried with no effect. For each file individually and
in some combinations I reversed the change, ran checksetup, and it
started working once all were reversed at once. I then started
restoring each file to the patched state, and running checksetup, and
could not get it to break. I now have a working patched copy, but I
can't tell you how I got there. It's good enough for me for now but
will require more investigation when I have time. The diff betwen one
that works and one that doesn't is only a database name and a bunch
of modtimes in generated templates.
