I'm new to the list and I know p4dti for TeamTrack's support has been
handed over to Serena but I'm hoping to get a quick answer to my
problems from this list. Also, Serena's official statement is they
don't support p4 server beyond 2005.2.
We're running Perforce 2006.1, TeamTrack 6.6 (recently brought in our
company to replace Tracker) on Windows only. We had lots of jobs in
Perforce which was the result of prior integration with Tracker.
Because of the new TeamTrack workflow and other considerations, we
decided it's easier to just wipe clean the p4 jobs and start from
scratch instead of doing any migration. So far I have not been
successful in my testing (with the exception of an out-of-the-box, no
real data test last year, which worked nicely). Currently I'm seeing
jobs in Perforce that were not supposed to be replicated and thousands
of conflicts errors.
My question is about the "clean up and start from scratch" part. After
deleting all jobs in Perforce, is it necessary to reset the p4 counter
"logger" and the 3 fields in TeamTrack created by p4dti? What's the
effect of leaving them as is? I read one of the original docs that says
resetting logger is a bad idea but I couldn't find any more information.
I appreciate any help.
Jessie
